At this awesome project, Baker Builders Inc performed a major overhaul and update to an older lakefront home. The complete interior of the home was gutted giving us space to create a Master Bedroom, add (2) guest bedrooms & bathroom, large/open kitchen & entertaining room, and a new attached garage. The home was primarily made of block walls, so, to meet desired energy ratings the exterior block walls were bored and core filled with closed cell foam. On the exterior, we installed James Hardie siding and brick masonry (from the original Stroh’s Brewing factory in Detroit, MI).
The outside living area included a large deck with low maintenance vinyl railing and a pass thru fireplace under a large covered patio to enjoy the lake view from early spring to late fall. A new well, septic system, and concrete driveway were installed as the originals were inadequate. The interior of the home features hardwood, ceramic tile, and carpet flooring throughout. A custom walk-in tile shower in the master, a new cast iron tub w/ tile walls in the guest bath, Kraftmaid White enamel cabinets w/ Granite countertops add the high quality look our client desired. A stainless steel work station was added in the laundry room for the mechanically inclined homeowner.
To embrace the gorgeous view of the lake, two 12′ sliding door walls were installed. This project turned out awesome and our clients were happy and have enjoyed their ‘new’ home.
